Apple would not have mourned the Touch Bar

Apple would like to resurrect the famous Touch Bar not on a MacBook Pro but on… An iPhone or an iPad.

While the Touch Bar has definitely left the MacBook Pros, Apple has not yet given up on this technology and would even like to implement it on iPhones or iPads. Indeed, we discover that Apple has filed requests for patent at the USPTO. Among these innovations, we find technology to integrate screens and controls on the sides of these devices. These areas would display status messages and offer additional controls, enriching the user experience.

A previous patent suggests mini OLED displays could be integrated into the sides. Which would transform each device into a form of Touch Bar. These screens could be used to display notifications or as shortcuts to specific apps and functions. A more recent patent describes a device with flexible OLED displays that wrap around the sides, providing a new touchscreen user interface.

These side screens could simplify access to applications, display useful information like the Dynamic Island, or be personalized for specific functions. These patent applications show Apple’s commitment to innovating the way we interact with our devices. However, we may find the idea “strange” because many users use cases to protect their iPhone. Unless Apple offers new touchscreen cases? To be continued…
