Apple is gearing up for a massive hardware rollout spanning late 2026 and 2027, according to reporting by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and details from leaks and prototypes. The product offensive features the company’s first foldable iPhone, the iPhone 18 Pro series with potential under-display Face ID, M6-powered MacBooks, and a redesigned MacBook featuring a touchscreen and OLED display.
The 2026 Autumn Lineup: iPhones and Foldables
Apple is breaking its traditional yearly launch cycle for the standard iPhone 18 lineup, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Instead of a uniform release, this autumn’s event is slated to showcase only the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models, alongside the company’s first foldable iPhone. Pro variants could integrate Face ID directly beneath the display for the first time, alongside an upgraded camera system featuring a variable aperture.
The foldable iPhone is engineered to remain compact when closed. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 18 variants, a cheaper iPhone 18e, and the iPhone Air 2 are pushed back to a spring 2027 release window. Apple is also planning a special anniversary model for the autumn of 2027 featuring a continuous glass surface devoid of visible cameras, which may skip the iPhone 19 designation entirely.
Silicon Upgrades Across Macs and iPads
The processing architecture is shifting quickly. Apple is preparing an iMac and a 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M6 chip, as detailed in Gurman’s newsletter. Furthermore, development is underway on a redesigned MacBook featuring an OLED screen and touch capabilities. An anticipated MacBook “Ultra” line might see its launch delayed to 2027 in order to debut directly with M7 processors, bypassing the M5 Pro, Max, and Ultra tiers for that specific chassis.
On the tablet front, the 12th-generation iPad is slated to gain support for Apple Intelligence. Additionally, an updated iPad mini equipped with an OLED display and a waterproof chassis is expected as early as October 2026, while an OLED iPad Air remains in discussion without a firm release date.
Wearables, Smart Home, and Audio Expansion
Hardware diversification extends into accessories and ambient computing. The Apple Watch Series 12 is scheduled to launch alongside the new iPhones, bringing fresh health capabilities, an S11 chip, new colorways, band options, and a ceramic casing alternative, with a potential Watch Series Ultra 4 arriving concurrently.
Audio and smart home ecosystems are also expanding. Apple is developing the AirPods 5 alongside next-generation AirPods Pro 4.
