Hackathon is a word combination of hacker and marathon. The aim of a hackathon is to find innovative software products or solutions within the given time. This hackathon took place for the first time for apprentices in Burgenland.

During this event, the participating apprentices worked together in teams and developed a digital app prototype for the company or for apprentices.

“The Apprentice Hackathon is a competition for all apprentices who want to expand their digital skills and creativity. In addition, the social skills that are so important in the working world, such as cooperation and communication in a team, are also promoted. In times of a shortage of skilled workers, events such as the apprentice hackathon contribute to the important upgrading of apprenticeships and vocational training – and as you can see from the results – our young people can do something, we are proud of them!” said Peter Nemeth, President of the Chamber of Commerce, at the award ceremony .
