A few days before a drop in subsidies to apprentice training centers (CFA) which did not fail to make their representatives react, craftsmen can see that their trades are always attracting more young people. More than 200,000 of them chose this path of work-study training during the 2021-2022 school year, a first, with a growing share of higher education courses, shows the latest barometer of the Higher Institute of Trades (ISM) -Maaf.

At this symbolic level – 201,000 precisely – this represents an increase of 14% compared to the previous school year, which was already up 14%. The record reached in 2010, before a large reverse plunge since the 2018 apprenticeship reform, has been exceeded, underlines the director of studies at ISM, Catherine Elie.
