In the Piraeus-Kiato-Piraeus section:

On Tuesday 16.04.2024 trains 2302 and 2304 will run their route from Piraeus to Ano Liosia by train and in the Ano Liosia – Kiato section they will be replaced by buses.

In the Athens-Chalkida-Athens section:

On Tuesday 16.04.2024 train 2534 will run from Athens to Afidnai by train and in the Afidnai – Chalkida section it will be replaced by a bus. Also, train 2539 in the Chalkida – Oinoi section will be replaced by a bus.

The requests

Workers at OASTH are on strike

50 buses and security personnel will operate the urban transport of Thessaloniki on Wednesday, due to the 24-hour strike. The Panhellenic Federation of Accountants has decided on strike action and it will participate in its turn in the GSEE strike on April 17th and also on May 1st.

OLME: Three-hour work stoppages

The presidents of ELME unanimously decided to continue the strike and teachers’ abstention from the evaluation, at the General Assembly, which took place on 30/3 in Athens, following a relevant proposal by the Board of OLME.

Specifically, from today, April 1st until April 26th, there will be three-hour work stoppages, either in the first or second shift of teachers, as a reaction to the presence of an evaluator. In addition, they announce the filing of a new out-of-court motion to declare a strike-abstention from the evaluation of all Secondary teachers.

It is also noted that today, the Plenary Meeting of the Presidents of the Primary Education Teachers’ Associations has been scheduled, in order to ask the IOE to re-proclaim a strike-abstention against the evaluation.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 2, Deputy Minister Zetta Makri is going to meet the Boards of the IOE at 11.30 and the OLME at 13.00. It is recalled that, following a lawsuit filed by the Minister of Education Kyriakos Pierrakakis, the teachers’ strike-abstention from the evaluation was declared illegal by the Single-Member Court of First Instance of Athens on March 18, 2024.

The specific mobilization, which was the product of a decision by the OLME, was not declared abusive by the court, since as it ruled, there is no need to examine the relevant reasons for abuse.

The realization of a 24-hour pan-Hellenic strike on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, its General Council decided ADEDY at the meeting, which took place on 2 April 2024.

ADEDY’s requests

As stated in the relevant announcement of ADEDY, the contentious framework is as follows:

“- Horizontal increase of 10% in the salaries of the employees in the State, in order to deal elementary with accuracy and inflation.

  • Restoring Gifts.
  • Collective agreements on wages.
  • Removal of the 2016–2017 biennium wage freeze.
  • Abolition of the 2% unemployment levy.
  • Increase of the tax-free allowance to 12,000 euros.
  • Increase in unhealthy work allowance.
  • Immediate staffing with permanent employees of all critical public bodies (health, education, social services, insurance, etc.) and upgrading of all necessary infrastructure”.

At the same time, the General Council of ADEDY decided to hold, in the next period, meetings and General Assemblies throughout the country, with the aim on the one hand of informing the colleagues and on the other hand of the better organization of the strike mobilization.

Also, the General Council of ADEDY decided the following:

“- Strike mobilization on Labor Day (May 1, 2024).

  • The support of the mobilization of health workers (POEDIN-OENGE) on May 16, 2024.
  • The support of the mobilizations of the educational federations that are taking place during this time with the strike-abstention from the evaluation.
  • The support of the dismissed trade unionist, D. Antoniou, with a protest rally on Friday, April 5 at the E.K.P.A.”
