Mar del Plata – Within the framework of the annual training plan for the units dependent on the Maritime Patrol Division, the corvette ARA “Granville” was trained in launching torpedoes.
The training tasks were aimed at the crew of the corvette, while non-commissioned officers belonging to the Submarine Weapons rank of the Mar del Plata Naval Arsenal and personnel from the Maritime Patrol Division also participated.
The launch was carried out using the MK32 launcher system and «Dummy»-type exercise torpedoes were used, which also made it possible to verify the correct operation of the on-board torpedo tube system.
The commander of the corvette, Commander Raúl Closter, highlighted the importance of the activity because “it allows the personnel to acquire skills and incorporate experience in the use of the anti-submarine weapons that the unit has.”
