Arab Parties Prepare Solution Paper for Palestinian Issue: Updates on Government Nomination and Gaza War

A Palestinian source told Sky News Arabia on Thursday that Arab parties are preparing a solution paper for the Palestinian issue based on making amendments to the Arab initiative.

The source explained that “the Arab paper to resolve the Palestinian issue includes reorganizing the Palestinian political and party map.”

Regarding the government, the source said: “President Mahmoud Abbas adheres to the nomination of the head of the Palestine Investment Fund, Muhammad Mustafa, to head the next government.”

He added: “Washington and regional parties do not support the choice of Muhammad Mustafa to head the government.”

Earlier, the Palestinian President accepted the resignation of the government of Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh and assigned him to run its work.

Several sources suggest that a new Palestinian government of technocrats will be formed within the next few days.

These developments come in reinforcement of the news that suggested that Hamas would agree, last week, to form a technocratic government, whose mission is to rebuild Gaza and restore security to it after the war.

This technocrat government will not have any association with any party in Palestine, as independent professionals will manage the transitional phase, until elections are held if the situation allows for that later.

Gaza war death toll

The death toll in the Gaza Strip in the war that Israel has been waging against Hamas since October 7 exceeded the “30,000” threshold, according to what the Hamas Ministry of Health announced on Thursday morning.

Ministry spokesman Doctor Ashraf Al-Qudra said that “the number of deaths exceeded 30,000” after arriving at the Gaza Strip’s hospitals on Wednesday-Thursday night. “79 dead, the majority of whom were children, women and the elderly.”
