Arabesque: Arabian luxury airline wants to start with Airbus A321 Neo

A new airline with a VIP claim is currently being built in Dubai. The project, called Arabesque, wants to operate 16 Airbus A321 Neo exclusively with business class seats.

If you want to stand out in the luxury segment, you shouldn’t be too modest. “We are one of the most exciting (if not the most exciting) airline start-ups in history,” Arabesque writes about himself. The name is still a working title, behind which the concept of a pure business class airline hides currently under construction in Dubai.

The new airline will operate 16 Airbus A321 Neo aircraft, fitted with business class seats from Italian manufacturer Optimares, Arabesque announced last week. The planned airline has not yet revealed where it intends to obtain the planes from and whether they will be bought or leased.

Offices in Germany are also planned

Airline boss is Tero Taskila, who has worked for Qatar Airways, Gulf Air and Air Baltic, as well as Chief for Estonian Air. A management team is being recruited around him. In total, Arabesque plans to hire more than 400 people by the end of the year.

The airline plans to build a global network of 60 long-haul routes. It does not focus on business travelers, but on wealthy holidaymakers. It describes itself as a “new luxury airline” that wants to set up branches not only in Dubai, but also in Germany and the Maldives.

Similar concept to La Compagnie

The concept is reminiscent of that of the French airline La Compagnie. This currently operates two A321 Neo, each with 76 business class seats.
