A member of the Strong Republic Bloc, Representative Ghiath Yazbek, commented on the trumpets that say, “The Lebanese Forces and Hezbollah have become in the same trench following the Saudi-Iranian agreement.”
In an interview via “Spot Shot”, within the “Point of View” program, Yazbek said: “No one can compare the Lebanese Forces to Hezbollah. We have never criticized Iran’s religious beliefs, but rather all we have done is direct political criticism in matters that have harmed Lebanon”.
He continued, “The forces are not like the party, on the contrary, the latter fought in the region, took up arms and attacked the House of Saud.”
Regarding the possibility of the forces electing Franjieh following this understanding, Yazbeck said: “No, we will not elect Franjieh. We do not question his Maronite status. The main problem lies in his different political choice.”
