According to the information provided by the National Forestry Corporation (Conaf), the forest fire in Lomas Coloradas in San Pedro de la Paz has already consumed 80 hectares of diverse vegetation.

An area of ​​80 affected hectares reported the National Forestry Corporation (Conaf) product of the forest fire called “Lomas Coloradas” in San Pedro de la Paz, Bio bio region.

According to Conaf, resources and brigade members from the Corporation continue to be in the area, in addition to brigade members from CMPC and Arauco forestry. Likewise, the deployment of the San Pedro de la Paz Fire Department was reported, with the support of units from Concepción, Santa Juana, Hualqui and Coronel.

It should be noted that the National Emergency Office (One my) declared a communal Red Alert for San Pedro de la Paz by the forest fire near homes.

The Red Alert measure was decreed because the fire is only 30 meters away from homes, to which are added erratic winds with gusts of over 45 kilometers per hour.

Twelve people evacuated preventively due to forest fire

Javier Guinez, mayor of San Pedro de la Paz, indicated that the volunteers and brigade members evacuated 12 people to a safe place. Also, he explained that they enabled the Galvarino School as a hostel.

“We are very close watching in Pie de Monte where the fire could overflow into the houses. We have to avoid that at all costs and be ready to evacuate so that nothing happens that we have to regret,” said the community chief.

While, Alexander Sandovalregional director of Onemi Bío Bío, said that these 12 people, residents of 4 houses, were evacuated preventively.

“We are working in a very coordinated way with Conaf, Firefighters and private companies. We call on the community to avoid risky behaviors,” she said.
