The draw was favorable for Argentina, because it will be local and surely on a clay surface against a rival that does not have any tennis player in the “top 100” of the ATP world ranking, neither in singles nor in doubles.
Argentina, with Guillermo Coria as captain, was left in the uncomfortable situation of having to revalidate their place in the group of elite countries after losing last weekend with Finland 3-1 in the city of Espoo, in one of the 2023 Qualifiers.
Lithuania, for its part, comes from beating Pakistan 4-0 in the World Group I playoff series.
