In Villa Fiorito, south of Greater Buenos Aires, June seemed to start normally. Nobody knew about the revenge of a mother, against her partner, for raping her daughter.
In the town of almost 50,000 inhabitants, a horrific crime broke out given its characteristics that came to light in trans-Andean media such as Clarion.

A missing person report
On June 1, a security camera in Villa Fiorito captured Daniel Tomás Silvero (56 years old) entering the house he shared almost three years ago with Laura Marcela Campos, 47 years old. Until then, an apparent arrival at what was his family bosom, but in reality there would be no return.
After 6 days, one of the subject’s daughters (from a previous partner), reported his disappearance to the authorities. Before her, she told him that she would rent a new home and that she would change the chip in her cell phone.
With the disappearance reported, when the police began the investigation, Laura Marcela told the authorities that Daniel went fishing and that, a week later, he had not returned.
The information from relatives of the subject and that provided by the subject’s partner did not agree at all.
However, he would later confess the truth, under the pressure of police questions and a macabre discovery in the town where a woman took revenge on her husband for raping her daughter.
Murdered and quartered: the revenge of a woman for raping her daughter
It was the second week of June when the authorities were alerted to the discovery of human remains in a garbage dump in Villa Fiorito, Lomas de Zamora. They were parts of a body (mutilated legs) dismembered, as in a butcher shop where animal meat is butchered.
The investigation was underway and Laura Marcela, in the sights of the authority.
The pressure was such that the woman confessed the authorship of the beating murder of Daniel, indicating that she later scattered his remains throughout various parts of the provincial town of Buenos Aires.
Due to this, other remains appeared in the area, including the subject’s head in a cement bucket in a stream.
The mother of three children indicated that she did so because he had raped her daughter since she was 12 years old. There is a complaint about it in 2019, but they continued to live together, until she decided to kill him.
Although she assured that she was the author of having murdered and dismembered him, the inquiries pointed to her two sons, 18 and 20 years old, who worked as butchers in the community.

The antecedents prior to being murdered and dismembered
Laura Marcela Campos assured over and over again that she was the material and intellectual author of the events. However, she and her children were locked up after the confession.
The woman’s daughter faced another reality check, seeing her mother and brothers in prison.
However, it would not be the only rape victim of Daniel Silvero. In 2010, the subject was denounced for raping one of his biological daughters, but the Argentine media outlet Clarín maintains that this case was filed.
Almost a decade later, the new complaint against him emerged, which was his tragic end, after a mother confessed to having murdered and dismembered him for raping her daughter.
The Functional Unit of Instruction (UFI) 16 Specialized in Gender Violence and Family Violence, took charge of the diligence, since in the woman’s confession, it is stated that Daniel exercised physical and sexual violence in the house they shared. She said that she acted in her own defense because of the abuse that the man committed.
Daniel Silvero’s family, on the other hand, assures his innocence and that he was a victim of Campos and his butcher sons, as published Chronicle.

He was murdered and dismembered for raping his daughter: an unexpected twist
A month had passed when Argentina learned of the man who appeared dismembered, after being murdered by his partner, for raping his daughter.
On July 5, other Argentine media, such as the news agency Webreported the unexpected turn in the case against Laura Marcela Campos and her two butcher sons who helped dismember Daniel Silvero’s body.
The woman, along with Mariano Gabriel (18 years old) and Fabián Alejandro (20 years old), regained their freedom to the astonishment of Argentine society.
“They committed the crime because they were victims of gender and family violence in all its forms”Judge Laura Ninni pronounced.
The prosecutor in the case, Marcela Juan, stated in her arguments that “The Campos family lived in a situation of violence since 2014”.
Accused of murder aggravated by the bond and by the premeditated concurrence of two or more people, the mother and two brothers of Daniel’s rape victim were released on parole.
They must appear monthly to sign the substitute measure for detention. They changed locations.
It was learned, in the middle of the trial, that Marcela had known Silvero for 24 years. By then, the subject had another partner and 11 children. They both had a son together, who is a minor.
