The Malvinas Islands were taken in 1833 and, since then, the British settled in the territory of the South Atlantic. In this way, the United Kingdom has dominated the islands for more than 189 years.
The visit of the sister of King Carlos III in the Malvinas Islands would last about six days and generated controversy in the Argentine government, which questioned her visit “without warning” and described it as “colonial presence”.
The princess Anne, from the United Kingdom, she arrived with her husband, Vice Admiral Tim Laurence, on November 18 to the Malvinas Islands, at the explicit request of his brother, King Carlos III.
The princess, upon arrival, placed a wreath on the “Liberation Monument” and he met former deminers, who were in charge of removing the mines from the fields after the war.

Within the agenda of the sister of Carlos III, there is a meeting with the members of the Legislative Assembly and some receptions with members of the community, as well as a meeting with the governor of the islands, Alison Blake.
It is also expected that, during this Saturday, they will be present in primary and secondary schools in the Islands, as well as visit conservation sites for the flora and fauna of the territory that was usurped by Great Britain.
Criticism for the “unannounced” visit to the Malvinas Islands
The visit surprised Argentina, and the secretary of Malvinas, Antarctica and South Atlantic, William Carmona, criticized the trip on social media.
“Princess Ana, of the British Royal House, arrived in Argentina without warning. Your country violates international law with its colonial presence in the South Atlantic, contrary to UN resolutions and global outcry. Perhaps that explains the impoliteness,” the official wrote in Twitter.
The Argentine authority also added the hashtag #LasMalvinasSonArgentina.

In June of this year, the Special Committee on Decolonization, a subsidiary body of the United Nations General Assembly, called on Argentina and the United Kingdom to resume negotiations for the sovereignty of the islands.
Likewise, in October, Argentina obtained broad international support at the UN for this claim.
