In Pirojpur Sadar Upazila, a thief named Kabir Mridha (37) died following being beaten up by local residents. The incident took place in the early hours of Friday (March 31) in Badura village of Shankar Pasha Union. Kabir is the son of Karim Mridha of that village.
Locals said that Kabir entered Panir Mridha’s house in Madhya Badura village in the early hours of Friday with the intention of stealing. At that time the people of the house were alert and caught him. Later, Kabir had a fight with the householder. The people around came to know the matter and rushed to the spot and beat up Kabir. Later, when he was rescued and taken to the village doctor, he declared Kabir dead.
District Police Superintendent Mohammad Saidur Rahman said, ‘Kabir is a professional Sindel thief. Several items including knives and knives used in the theft have been recovered from the scene. There are multiple cases once morest him in Pirojpur, Bagerhat and Indurkani police stations.
