Ariane 5: next launch announced on April 13 for takeoff of the JUICE satellite

The next launch of Ariane 5 should be held on April 13, 2023, the CSG announced on February 13. The rocket will launch the ESA satellite named JUICE. The latter will have the mission to explore the icy moons of Jupiter.

The Guiana Space Center has just made an appointment for space lovers. “See you next Thursday, April 13 for the take-off of the European exploration satellite JUICE (Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer“, announces the CSG on its Facebook page. And to add: “He will launch from Guyanese soil aboard Ariane 5 #VA260 to discover the icy planets of Jupiter“.

The satellite arrived in Guyana on February 10. It will be sent from Kourou as part of a European Space Agency exploration mission (ESA) so to study Jupiter and its three largest moons: Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. It will perform 35 flybys of the three large moons orbiting Jupiter, before changing orbit to Ganymede.
