ALGIERS – The Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, received the members of the National People’s Assembly of the electoral district of the wilaya of Aïn Defla in order to listen to the concerns raised concerning in particular the energy connection for their supported, a ministry statement said.
According to the same source, the Minister received on Tuesday the representatives of the electoral district of the wilaya of Aïn Defla in order to listen to the concerns raised by the deputies concerning in particular the energy connection (electricity and gas) of the regions not supplied, housing rural and isolated areas in addition to the connection of farms and agricultural and industrial areas, for their support”.
The meeting made it possible to approach the file of rehabilitation and the enlargement of the electrical networks by equipping them with new transformers in addition to the rehabilitation of some service stations by the company Naftal.
“Mining investment projects were also discussed, in particular the possibility of reviving the iron mine in Miliana and private investment in this area,” the ministry said.
At the end of the meeting, the minister assured that “he will take into consideration all the proposals which will be examined and processed”, adding that the necessary measures will be taken”.
He also highlighted the concern of the sector and its institutions to concretize and complete the energy connection programs, in particular electricity in this wilaya, where there are 335 farms, including 200 connected to the electricity network, specifying that the rest of the programs are being studied and implemented.
In this regard, Mr. Arkab announced the connection, very soon, of 22 investment projects to electricity and gas.
The rate of electrical connection at the level of the wilaya reached 98.5% while the rate of connection to natural gas is 60%.
