URUAPAN, Mich., May 20, 2022.- Michoacán Police uniforms prevented the advance of the self-styled armed group Pueblos Unidos, which was moving on the Siglo 21 highway, at the height of the Chapultepec Booth, and which presumably was heading to take possession of Tiripetío and Capula.

At 7:00 p.m., it was reported that around 20 trucks, with armed people and marked with the legend Pueblos Unidos, were heading to Pátzcuaro, to later take over the aforementioned communities.

Before the report, a police operation was deployed and the units were intercepted. The soldiers prevented the advance of the armed group; however, a tense atmosphere was reported in the area due to the risk of a possible confrontation between the soldiers and members of the armed group.

It was reported that this group controls at least five municipalities in the entity, with the presumed task of fighting against the collection of flats from avocado producers.
