Passengers on tram 7 in Brussels reported a potentially armed man in Brussels on Thursday morning. However, when the police arrived on site, the suspect had already disappeared, indicates the Stib.

“Several passengers saw an armed man, according to them, on tram 7 around 8:30 a.m. this morning”declared the spokesperson for the Stib. “It happened at the Georges Henri pre-metro station. We immediately notified the police who arrived on the scene, near the George Henri stop. But in the meantime, the man had already gotten off. The police then questioned the witnesses. The images from the surveillance cameras of the tram and the premetro station were handed over to the police. Tram traffic was interrupted for approximately half an hour.”he punctuates.

For its part, the federal police indicate that the police are actively looking for this man. “A potentially suspicious person was reported on tram line 7 near the George Henri stop (Place Montgomery in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert). This person would have gotten off at the Diamant stop in Schaerbeek,” indicates the spokesperson for the federal police.
