Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir visited Heavy Industries Taxila. The Army Chief was given a pre-briefing on HIT’s technological capabilities and progress on ongoing projects, local resource production and recent innovation initiatives were also part of the briefing.
According to ISPR, the army chief reviewed the production and upgradation process of tanks and 155 mm artillery gun barrels, remote weapons and other security equipment.
General Asim Munir said on this occasion that HIT has become a center of knowledge economy and research and development, which is central to achieving self-reliance in defense production, domestic exports and economy.
ISPR said Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir expressed full confidence in the capabilities of the personnel working in the institution and appreciated the efforts of the officers and manpower, thanks to which the HIT has improved the armed forces and law enforcement. The modern defense production requirements of the institutions are being met according to international standards.
