Arousing the desire to develop a prosperous and happy country

Resolution of the 13th National Congress defines the goal of turning our country into a high-income developed country by 2045. One of the prerequisites identified by the Congress is to arouse the aspiration to develop the country. prosperity, happiness.

What must we do to awaken, arouse and effectively promote the will and aspiration to develop the nation in the new period? The newspaper had a conversation with Dr. Nguyen Van Dang – Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics about this issue.

Development driving force

In the process of progressing to prosperity of each country, the indispensable driving force is the desire for development. So what is aspiration and what role does it play in the development of each country, sir?

For an individual, a community or a nation, the development process is indispensable for an element called aspiration. Aspiration can be understood simply as the needs, expectations, interests of individuals or groups, certain communities and good and positive things that they want to achieve.

For example, we often talk about the desire for prosperity or the desire for independence and freedom. These are universal values that all members of the community can aspire to, and aspire to achieve. That aspiration is spiritual, has the ability to gather forces, connect all individuals together towards the realization, in fact, to bring enjoyment to each member of the particular community. some body.

With countries in the world, especially in Asia such as Japan, Korea, Singapore or China, in the development period from about the middle of the 19th century until now, we see the aspiration factor always. play a prominent role.

Japan since about the second half of the 19th century, before the threat from Western countries, they had strong aspirations. They had to adapt and somehow avoid the threat of Western colonialism. It is from that reason that Japanese thinkers have set forth ideas, influenced and encouraged and inspired all classes and classes in society so that they could change and adapt, bring The country carried out reforms to move forward on the path of power, to be able to compete with Western countries and avoid colonial aggression.

Or small countries like Singapore, since the 1960s, at that time the leaders of Singapore, most notably Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, aspired to turn this island nation into a first-class country, and citizens became citizens. of the most developed countries. After more than 30 years, Singapore has realized this aspiration.

More recently China. From the late 1970s to 1980s, they aspired to bring the country back to the central position in the world order and to be able to compete side by side with other countries, especially the West and the US. After about 40 years of reform until now, China has become the second largest economy in the world with strengths in many ways, not just economic wealth.

In short, on the world level, the development of any country cannot lack the element of aspiration. Aspiration is essentially a reflection of the values that every member of a community aspires to, aspires to, and wishes to achieve. Therefore, it has the effect of inspiring, stimulating and connecting people to create collective power to realize aspirations.

The way to prosperity of the country cannot be without strong thoughts

History shows that arousing and nurturing development aspirations in each country cannot be without the guidance of inspirational ideas. What do you think about this issue?

We talk about aspiration as the needs, interests, and desires that the people of a certain country want to aim for and achieve. That particular aspiration is an inspirational set of ideological value systems.

I want to emphasize the role of thought. If we want to move towards a powerful nation, we must first have an ideology that leads to that strength, I will temporarily call it a powerful ideology that inspires everyone, all classes, all classes, all forces in society share the same vision.

That ideological value is like a flag that everyone is aiming for, inspiring them, gathering support, connecting the strength of each individual, each class and class, mobilizing all resources in society and from there will come together.

It can be said that the path of prosperity and development of a country cannot be without strong ideology and strong aspirations.

Realizing the aspiration of a developed nation

Once we have a clear direction of development, what factors are needed to realize the aspiration of a developed country by 2045, sir?

I think we need a guiding ideology. The Party has persistently and consistently maintained the ideological foundation of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh’s thought. Marxism-Leninism aims at a society that upholds justice. Ho Chi Minh Thought is the spirit of national independence and freedom for the people. To the 13th National Party Congress, we added values such as: Rich people, strong country, justice, democracy and civilization.

We had a leadership vision, an inspiring value system. The challenge is how to modernize the national governance system. As the world becomes flatter, more interdependent and more complex, the traditional management thinking of the past may no longer be appropriate.

We must modernize the national governance system and gather the support of all social forces, thereby mobilizing all social resources to join hands in realizing the 2045 vision.

Next is the quality of the management team. How to build a contingent of qualified cadres suitable to the current context, capable and large enough in more than 20 years to realize the 2045 goal.

I would like to emphasize the role of thought towards a strong nation. When we have an ideology that both maintains and ensures the fundamental principles, but also adds modern elements, bringing modern colors associated with the needs and aspirations of the country as a community. If we move forward, then the ideology with the role of leading and inspiring will automatically help us create movement in the next elements. For example, the national governance system, the role of each individual or organization or business or government.
