PAP/EPA / Adam Vaughan / Premier League match: Burnley FC – Arsenal FC Arsenal players went to Burnley for the fifth consecutive victory in the Premier League. The Gunners had previously defeated Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Liverpool FC and West Ham United. In the last London derby, they demolished Łukasz Fabiański’s club 6-0. In the table, they are again close to the leader and runner-up, so despite initial problems, they are candidates for winning the English championship.

Arsenal’s opponent was the penultimate team in the table, which, for a change, was unable to defeat any of its last seven opponents. During this period, it faced, among others, Liverpool and Manchester City, and the bar was not supposed to be lower on Saturday. Consolation for Burnley FC has been the fact that they have performed well against Arsenal, scoring in four of seven since February 2020.

The team from London took the lead in the 4th minute with a shot by Martin Odegaard, which made the task easier in the later stages of the match. Arsenal gradually added more goals to the advance. Bukayo Saka scored two goals, and Leandro Trossard’s goal to make it 4-0 in the 66th minute took away any hope for the hosts. Jakub Kiwior, who again played left back in Arsenal’s eleven, assisted Kai Havertz’s goal to make it 5-0. The Pole is settling into the eleven of the top Premier League team.

West Ham United tried to recover from a heavy defeat to Arsenal away to Nottingham Forest. The Cup winner has not won in the last eight matches, six of which he played in the Premier League. The opportunity to break through looked good as Nottingham Forest had also been underperforming in recent weeks and had failed to beat any of their last four league rivals. However, West Ham disappointed again and lost 0-2. Fabiański was on the bench.

Aston Villa, whose defender is Matty Cash, also played away. The Polish representative’s team is preparing to return to the Europa Conference League and went to London to play against Fulham FC. Aston Villa won one of the last four matches in the Premier League, which meant that its results at the top were not as good as at the end of last year. The main player of the match was Ollie Watkins, the author of two goals. They won 2:1.
