Arsenal are preparing to strengthen their defense during the next summer transfer window and have reportedly turned their attention to central defender Ousmane Diomandé, currently playing for Sporting CP in Portugal.
According to information reported by Caughtoffside, the London club would have identified the 20-year-old player as a serious target to strengthen their defensive sector. Diomandé, an Ivory Coast international who has a release clause of 80 million euros, is also said to have attracted the attention of Chelsea. Despite the competition, Arsenal managers have already started discussions with the player’s entourage as well as with the Portuguese club to explore the possibility of a transfer.
This season, the Abidjan native has demonstrated his potential by scoring two goals and providing an assist in 29 appearances in all competitions, without forgetting his defensive qualities which make him an attractive option to strengthen the Gunners’ defensive line.
