A car business in the Saint-Laurent borough was the target of an arson Sunday morning.
It was around 7 a.m. that the alarm at the business located on Chemin de la Côte-de-Liesse, near Chemin Dalton, went off.
Once on site, the Montreal Fire Safety Service (SIM) quickly brought the flames under control.
Fortunately, the business suffered only minor damage. The facade was apparently smashed before the fire was set and traces of accelerant were found.
Given the suspicious nature of the fire, the investigation was transferred to the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), indicated Jeanne Drouin, spokesperson for the police force.
As the business was closed, no one was injured in the fire.
The scene was protected to allow investigators to analyze it. No suspects have yet been apprehended in this case.
