The end of January 2024 will mark the 79th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp. ARTE commemorates the victims of the Holocaust with a series of outstanding films: “The Shoah in the Ghettos” (Online First) uses moving reports from residents to trace the cruel everyday life in the forced quarters. The documentation “Sobibor – Anatomy of an Extermination Camp” describes the laborious reconstruction of a concentration camp, whose traces the Nazis wanted to completely erase. “Golda Maria” (Online First) provides the testimony of a Jewish woman who lived through the 20th century and its horrors.
