Rarely, but biology does make headlines: A research team led by developmental biologist Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz claims to have created artificial (synthetic) human embryos using induced pluripotent stem cells. This was reported by the researcher from the University of Cambridge (GB) and the California Institute of Technology (USA) recently at the annual conference of the International Society for Stem Cell Research in Boston.
