It is the incomprehension that dominates after the withdrawal of the annual subsidy from the Sud-Paca Region to the AS Cannes Volley-Ball Continuing Education Center for the 2022-2023 season.

Significant aid of 25,000 euros that the club has received since 2013. No official explanation, to the great dismay of David Lisnard, the mayor, who sent a letter to Renaud Muselier, president of the Provence-Alpes region -Côte d’Azur. “I was informed by the leaders of AS Cannes Volleyball of the withdrawal of the Paca region from the examination of their annual subsidy request for their Training Center for the 2022-2023 season. This decision, which I deplores, represents a negative impact of 25,000 euros on the club’s budget, to the detriment of the accommodation of young talents, their preparation and nutrition, their studies, as well as their travel across France…”
A missive dated March 1 which has still not found a response. Same incomprehension on the side of the Dragons with the president, Liberto Zaragosa, also waiting for a return from the Region.
“I sent an email to the Region for explanations and the reasons for the withdrawal of the subsidy. For the moment, I have not heard back… We would like to have explanations to know what to do to remedy this. In order to relaunch the procedure for the allocation of the subsidy which has been allocated to us since 2013.”
Official reaction from the Region: “Once again, the accusations of the mayor of Cannes are difficult to understand.
