A few days before the opening of COP28, which will take place from November 30 to December 12 in Dubai, the banks are greening their speech. Often accused by NGOs of contributing to global warming through their funding, on the contrary they want to take advantage of the meeting to show their determination to act in favor of the transition.
This Monday, Société Générale announces an update of its commitments and objectives in this area. Most had already been revealed during the investor day last September. But they had been partly eclipsed by the plunge in stock prices, while the strategic plan of the new boss, Slawomir Krupa, had clearly disappointed the markets.
