Two Malayali players in the Indian team participating in the Asian Softball Championship in Shimanto, Japan. PP Ajmal (29) native of Kozhikode and Riju V Reji (22) native of Pathanamthitta will wear the Indian jersey in the Under-23 Championship which will be held on September 3rd to 6th.
Ajmal is the son of Ashraf-Mehjabi couple in Kozhikode Amam Kunivayal AH House. Ajmal, who joined the postal department last year, is currently an employee of Tamil Nadu Erode RMAC. Riju, who was selected for the under-23 team, is the son of Reggie George and Eliamma Reggie of Pathanamthitta Kaipattur Vallikote. He is a PG student in Catholic College.
