A few hours ago, a Reddit user claiming to work at retailer GameStop shared evidence that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is due for an August release, contradicting rumors of a delay to 2024.
As can be seen below, GameStop PC marketing features several upcoming games, such as Street Fighter 6, Diablo IV, Final Fantasy XVI, Pikmin 4, Hogwarts Legacy (Nintendo Switch), Madden NFL 24, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, Skull and Bones and Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

In the image below, you can see the prediction of several games that will arrive this year. Assassin’s Creed Mirage would be scheduled for August, while Skull and Bones had a portion cut out of the picture. Earlier in the year, Ubisoft announced a series of postponements and cancellations. While Assassin’s Creed: Mirage wasn’t in the midst of this wave of delays, the game still doesn’t have an official release date, with many assuming the title will be released sometime in fiscal 2023 (between April 2023 and March 2024). .
Some time ago, the alleged Allegro store leak indicated that the title will be released on June 30, 2023, but so far, that date has not yet been confirmed.
This week, leaker ScriptLeaksR6, known for leaking accurate Rainbow Six information and even a gameplay preview of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, revealed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will “probably” be delayed. In the same rumor, the leaker indicates that “Project Orlando”, known as the upcoming The Crew Motorfest, will also be postponed.

Ubisoft is going through a very delicate moment, but even so, the company still has many games scheduled for its next fiscal year, which starts from April of this year.
Among the many games already announced, one of the most anticipated is undoubtedly Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which promises to take the franchise back to its roots while presenting a much denser and more realistic map. Although previous rumors indicated that the game would not be released until August of this year, it seems that a Polish store ended up leaking that the game will arrive ahead of schedule.
According to the Allegro store, the Ubisoft game will be released in June 30, 2023. June 30th is a Friday, the most common day for game releases, especially AAA games. Although it seems like a plausible date, June 30th is also the last day of the month, which could mean that it’s just a fictional date.

Even with such negative factors, many players have high expectations for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the next game in the franchise that promises to be a return to the roots that made it famous and that could be released in August of this year.
In a recent interview with GamesRadar, Stéphane Boudon, the game’s creative director, gave more details about the project and promised that Ubisoft is taking advantage of modern technology to create a world that is richer and full of details than the classic games in the franchise.
The increased hardware power and extended experience we’ve developed also allows us to have a richer and denser map compared to the first ACs, and that means for us more gameplay opportunities, more interactions between systems, more depth. It also means incredible, immersive detail to treat Baghdad like one of Mirage’s main characters.
One of the old systems that returns in Mirage is crowd camouflage, but according to Boudon, this tool now looks more natural and realistic.
For crowd camouflage, for example, we took a more systemic approach. In AC 2 you could see the pattern of NPCs grouping in your lane, it was awesome back then but it was a bit artificial. With the chaos and vibe of Baghdad that we wanted, a system like that wouldn’t fit, so we went for a more organic one, a bit like Unity, where you automatically blend in as soon as you have three people around, it’s harder to master and less Predictable, but much more engaging.
The director also promises that the stealth mechanics have been updated and classic mechanics like smoke bombs and knife throwing are back, but now you can uniquely improve them to suit your playstyle.
