MPH – Media Player Hotkey

Media Player Hotkey: Assign common hotkeys to all media players on your Windows PC

Media Player Hotkeys is a portable and free Windows application that requires no installation. You download a ZIP file, extract it to a folder and run the executable file. Once you run it, you will see the following window with four tabs namely

  1. Shortcuts
  2. Players
  3. Choice
  4. To help

Shortcuts: This is the key section that does the trick. In the right section, you can see a drop-down list and three buttons down. All you have to do is choose an action from the list, be it play, pause, next, previous, etc., then click on the “Add Shortcut” button. This brings up another window. Choose an appropriate key by checking the boxes/radio buttons and list items. Click “Accept”.

That’s it; now you can use hotkey on all media players. Similarly, you can assign hotkeys for different actions available in the drop-down list and use them regardless of the media player currently in use.

Players: This is the section that informs you about the software support for the different drives. Note that MPH does not provide full support for some of the older media players. They are listed under this tab.
