Alonso climbed the podium for the hundredth time, previously only Kimi Raikkonen (103), Alain Prost (106), Sebastian Vettel (122), Michael Schumacher (155) and Lewis Hamilton (191) reached such an indicator.

The winner of the race was the pilot of Red Bull from Mexico, Sergio Perez. The second place was taken by his teammate Dutchman Max Verstappen. Alonso initially finished in third place despite a five-second penalty early in the heat. However, after the race, a 10-second penalty was added to him for incorrectly serving the previous penalty.
