Officially debuted during Monterey Car Week, the Aston Martin Valen is a limited-run, 838-horsepower front-engined supercar based on the Vanquish platform. Priced around $1.7 million, only 150 units will be built by Aston Martin’s Special Vehicle Operations, with first deliveries expected in early 2027.
Engineering the World’s Most Powerful Front-Engined Production Car
Aston Martin’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division has positioned the Valen right on the edge of what an Aston Martin can be. At the core of the chassis is a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V-12 engine pumping out 838 horsepower and 737 lb-ft of torque. Power routes through a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, pushing the machine from zero to 60 miles per hour in three seconds flat. According to Robb Report and Road & Track, the automaker has electronically limited the top speed to 214 mph.
Mass management dictated much of the engineering lifecycle. SVO engineers shed nearly 250 pounds from the V-12 platform. Solid aluminum suspension arms, knuckles, and titanium chassis bolts account for a 37-pound reduction on their own. Magnesium wheels minimize unsprung mass, while a carbon-fiber body wraps around the underlying aluminum structure. Inside the cabin, a slim center console utilizes 3-D-printed metal combining the lightness of aluminum with the strength of titanium.
Chassis Dynamics and Powertrain Calibration
Harnessing 838 horsepower in a front-engine architecture requires aggressive thermal and dynamic management. The Valen relies on Bilstein DTX semi-active dampers and model-specific springs. Engineers implemented custom electronic stability control tuning, unique tire camber adjustments, and a recalibrated brake booster to preserve firm pedal feedback from the carbon-ceramic brakes.
Throttle mapping shifts dynamically depending on the selected drive mode. Sport and Sport+ modes utilize shorter mapping that requires less pedal travel to access more power. Track mode introduces a longer, more progressive pedal travel for a more precise throttle action. Furthermore, the car rides on custom 21-inch magnesium wheels wrapped in soft-compound Pirelli P-Zero R tires equipped with Cyber Tire telemetry data feeds.

The exterior swaps soft lines for an angular nose, a jutting eyebrow framing recessed slim LED headlamps, and elongated side strakes that function as wheel-arch air extractors.
Aerodynamic elements include saw-tooth vortex generators cut into the sills, inspired by the Valhalla supercar. The rear profile eliminates the traditional window entirely—relying on a reversing camera instead—while utilizing a full-width light bar that doubles as a downforce-generating Gurney flap. The exhaust system features a boisterous 12-into-four layout that makes the car 50 percent louder than the Vanquish, operating via upper exits that remain permanently open and lower valves that actuate under heavy throttle loads.
Production Realities and Availability
Alex Long, director of SVO, notes that the division offers an end-to-end service for clients engaging in direct factory relationships. Only 150 examples of the Valen will enter production. Initial customer deliveries are slated to begin in early 2027.
