Aston Villa announced today, Friday, that the Brazilian player, Douglas Luiz, has signed a long-term contract to stay with the team.
Luiz moved to the Villains in 2019, coming from Manchester City, for regarding 17 million euros.

“We are pleased to announce that Douglas Luiz has signed a new long-term contract with the club,” Aston Villa said in a statement.
English press reports indicated that Luiz’s new contract with his English club extends until June of 2026.
Arsenal were close to signing Luiz in the last summer transfer market, but the deal failed at the last minute, while press reports confirmed that the London team would try to sign him in the next winter “Mercato”.
