announced club Aston Villa The Englishman, on Saturday evening, signed a contract with French striker Moussa Diaby, without revealing the details of the deal, coming from his German counterpart, Bayer Leverkusen, during the current summer Mercato.
English press reports revealed that Diaby signed a contract with Aston Villa until 2028, and the value of the deal amounted to 60 million euros, including bonuses.
The English club’s statement said: “Aston Villa are delighted to announce the signing of French international Moussa Diaby. The 24-year-old winger joins Villa from Bayer Leverkusen for an undisclosed fee and has already been linked with new teammates on their tour of the United States.”
He added, “Diaby, who won 10 international matches with the French national team, started his career with his hometown club, Paris Saint-Germain, and graduated from the youth ranks to the first team.”
He continued, “Since joining Leverkusen in 2019, his performances for the Bundesliga team domestically and in the Champions League and Europa League have attracted the attention of a number of clubs across Europe. He finished last season with 14 goals to his name in all competitions.”
Diaby is Aston Villa’s third deal this summer, after Belgian Youri Tielemans and Spanish defender Pau Torres.
