The Astros will add depth at catcher before the trade deadline (Tuesday 6 pm ET) by agreeing to a trade Monday for Christian Vazquez from the Red Sox, sources confirmed to MLB.com’s Brian McTaggart.
Veteran Vazquez, who won the 2018 World Series with the Red Sox, is a skilled catcher who can also add to the woodwork. He’s hitting .282/.327/.432 this season.
