At Computex, Asus unveiled several PC screens dedicated to gaming in its Republic of Gamers (ROG) range. The most impressive among them is the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD, equipped with an imposing 49-inch QD-OLED panel from Samsung, offering a definition of 5120 × 1440 pixels.

As part of the Computex trade show, Asus announced several new PC screens, notably in its Republic of Gamers (ROG) range, which specializes in gaming. One screen in particular caught our attention: the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD, a real technological monster that stands out for its size, definition and panel technology.

The ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD: a breathtaking display

The most striking feature of the ROG Swift OLED PG49WCD is its size. This 49-inch screen uses Samsung’s latest QD-OLED panel, offering a definition of 5120 × 1440 pixels – the equivalent of two QHD screens side by side.

The panel is curved with a radius of 1.8 meters (1800R), providing an exceptional field of vision for an immersive gaming experience. With an aspect ratio of 32:9 and a pixel density of 109ppi, visual details should be crisp. Add to that extremely high contrast and an incredibly short 0.03ms response time typical of an OLED panel, along with a 144Hz refresh rate, and you have a very promising gaming display.

Asus has also integrated a custom heatsink with a graphene film to achieve a maximum brightness of 1000 cd/m² while reducing the risk of burn-in. Connections include DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1 and USB-C with 90 watts, as well as KVM capability.

The ROG Swift PG38UQ: another impressive option

Asus also presented the ROG Swift PG38UQ, a more traditional screen with a 38-inch IPS panel offering a definition of 3840 × 2160 pixels in 16: 9 format. With a pixel density of 116 ppi, this monitor delivers a crisp image.

It has a 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, with a peak brightness of 600 cd/m² thanks to DisplayHDR 600 certification. It also covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color space.

ROG Strix XG259QN and ROG Swift 360Hz PG27AQN: speed first

For gamers looking for extremely high refresh rates, Asus also introduced two 360Hz displays: the ROG Strix XG259QN and the ROG Swift 360Hz PG27AQN. Of a more modest size (24.5 and 27 inches respectively), these screens offer unprecedented performance for games requiring maximum responsiveness, such as online FPS. The 27-inch model also introduces Nvidia’s all-new Ultra Low Motion Blur (ULMB) G-Sync to keep blurring to a minimum. Incidentally, the latter is not new, but Asus ROG has brought a software update to support Asus’ new technology.

In short, Asus continues to impress with PC screens dedicated to gaming combining exceptional performance and exceptional image quality. Gamers are now spoiled for choice to enhance their gaming experience. However, we do not yet know prices or availability dates.
