31-year-old Dawood Muhammad is to be deported. A single mother has now collected 900 signatures to fight for him to stay in Salzburg.
“I’ve built a life for myself in Salzburg. I hope I can stay,” says Dawood Muhammad. The 31-year-old native of Pakistan has been living in Austria for almost nine years. He speaks German at B2 level, works as a caretaker and does voluntary work on the side.
However, he has not yet received a right of residence in Austria. The application for a humanitarian right to stay was also rejected last week by the Federal Office for Immigration and Asylum (BFA). Dawood should leave the country within 14 days, it says in …
