at 74, Roy Hodgson says stop

Roy Hodgson (74) no longer wants to coach. The Briton, called in January at the bedside of Watford, will leave his post at the end of the season. The Hornets are likely to be relegated.

Hodgson said he now wants to enjoy his free time and his family, including his wife. “I really enjoyed doing this job, but we are in a very demanding world,” he said on the sidelines of the award ceremony at Buckingham Palace, where he received a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for services to football.

Roy Hodgson has a coaching career spanning over 45 years. He notably led the national teams of Switzerland and England. In clubs, he passed among others by Neuchâtel Xamax, Grasshopper, Inter Milan, Blackburn Rovers, Fulham, Liverpool, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace before his final freelance at Watford.
