Devon Allen (28), who transformed from the US national hurdles to a wide receiver in the NFL, was excluded from the Philadelphia Eagles’ 53-man roster for the 2022-2023 season, which starts next month.

On the 31st (Korean time), local media such as NBC Sports reported that Allen was not included in the final entry for the Philadelphia Eagles. Allen played both athletics and American football during his high school and college years, and after graduating from college he devoted himself to athletics. He finished fifth in the men’s 110m hurdles at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and fourth in last year’s Tokyo Olympics. Allen won the New York Grand Prix last June with a time of 12.84, the third-best in history, but was disqualified from the World Championships in July due to a false start.

Allen gave up his passion for athletics and turned to the NFL. Allen enjoyed his first ever touchdown against the Cleveland Browns in a pre-season game on the 22nd, and local media described it as “showing off his Olympic speed.” However, his lack of practical experience was hindered and he was not included on the season roster.
