100m hurdles specialist Noemi Zbären is ending her sporting career at the age of 28. His greatest result will remain his 6th place at the Beijing World Championships in 2015.

Zbären had great success, but was also regularly delayed by injuries. The Emmentaloise was among the best in various junior categories. She was able to start her pro career without a hitch. But a ruptured cruciate ligament put a damper on his career.

It was only this year that she returned to the world elite following a long period of doubts and suffering. At the world indoor championships in Belgrade, she even set her personal best over 60m hurdles in 7.95 and only missed the final by one hundredth. Outdoors, she reached the semis both at the world championships in Eugene than to Europeans in Munich.

Zbären now wants to focus more on her family and her professional career, which she has always pursued alongside sport. After her studies in biochemistry, she co-founded a young company and developed a new test method for the diagnosis of allergies.
