Atlanta loses the services of Sharife Cooper

A few days following signing a new two-way contract with the Atlanta Hawks, Sharife Cooper has seen how the Georgia organization has finally opted out of him.

It has been the Hawks themselves who have officially announced that they are cutting the 21-year-old point guard, presumably with another player in mind to take his place, since they now have only one player on the roster with a two-way contract: Chaundee Brown.

Chosen in 48th place in the 2021 draft, Cooper played a total of 13 games with Atlanta during the 2021-22 season to enjoy 39 minutes on the court in which he was 3 of 14 from the field. With a testimonial role in the NBA, he had much more playing time in the G League, where he averaged 17.1 points and 6.9 assists for the Atlanta affiliate College Park Skyhawks.

Regarding his future in the NBA, now he will have to find a place in another organization, perhaps making use of a training camp at the end of the summer in which he can show his qualities.
