Atlético Madrid overthrow Cadiz and keep pace with the leading duo

Atlético Madrid, winner of Cádiz in front of its audience on Sunday evening (3-2), remains in contact with Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, who also won on Saturday and who have seized the first two places in La Liga. After this 8th day, which will end on Monday with a match between the poorly ranked Las Palmas and Celta Vigo, the Merengue and Barça are 1st and 2nd, separated by a point.
The Colchoneros are 4th, five lengths behind the new leader but now three points behind Girona, previous surprise leader at the start of the season, crushed at home 3-0 by Real Madrid on Saturday.
