Press reports revealed that Atletico Madrid fans refused to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, the star of the Manchester United attack, during the current summer transfer period.
Atlético has become the latest club to be associated with the name of Ronaldo, seeking to leave Manchester United in the current summer Mercato.
According to the “Football Spain” website, a large number of Atletico Madrid fans launched the hashtag “contracr7”, which means “against Cristiano Ronaldo”, on Twitter, to express their rejection of the 37-year-old star’s inclusion.
The refusal of the Atletico fans to include Ronaldo, as he is one of the most prominent legends of the traditional rival Real Madrid, where he played in its ranks for 9 years between 2009 and 2018.
It is worth noting that Atletico Madrid is considering selling the Frenchman, Antoine Griezmann, in order to provide financial liquidity to contract with Ronaldo.
Before his name was associated with Atletico, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain rejected the idea of contracting Ronaldo.
