Atleti followed up last weekend’s point loss against fellow Almeria by being completely overrun by Athletic in Thursday’s cup return. There will therefore be some tired bones and skulls on display during Sunday, especially due to the fact that it is a relatively early kick-off time.
For this meeting, Atleti still have to do without Griezmann, who continues to be a big loss. The team has certainly scored 7 goals in the last two league games, but here they are up against one of the league’s better defenses.
However, Atleti are the league’s best home team and should be looking to bounce back after the tough week. Nevertheless, it will undeniably not be an easy match.
⚽️ Real Betis
After a bit of a wobbly spell, Pellegrini’s men have once again found the right course, and last weekend’s convincing performance and victory against Athletic Club testifies that Betis are in the right place at the moment.
A big reason for the promotion has been the brutally fine January window that the team was responsible for. Johnny Cardoso, who is already one of the signings of the season, has taken the league by storm, Fornals has found his old form and Chimy Avila is showing that he still can.
However, Isco is still out and Fekir is uncertain for the game, which is a heavy loss. However, Betis now has really good width and will be able to stand up well in the match.

Atleti have looked a bit more worn out of late, with the attacking play lacking quite the same fluidity (the match against Las Palmas was certainly extreme, but the numbers don’t reflect the match) and the defense looking really shaky. However, the team is the league’s best home team and must absolutely be favourites.
However, you are up against a really good and in-form Real Betis, who I think will be able to put up a good fight. Despite some interruptions, the squad is now surprisingly broad and the players that have been brought in are of a very high standard.
Anything above 1.85 on the plus line therefore feels great!
