The Swiss Marc-Andrea Hüsler (ATP 114) did not pass the first round of the ATP 500 tournament on grass in Halle. He was beaten in straight sets, 7-6 (7/4) 6-4 by American Mackenzie McDonald (ATP 53).
Coming from the qualifications, Hüsler (25) held off his opponent. He only conceded his face-off once, but never managed to take the serve from the American, who dominated the first set tie-break.
