ATP Vienna: Djokovic swept away by a “lucky loser” –

Novak Djokovic was swept aside by Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego (ATP 42) 6-2 6-1 in the quarter-finals of the Vienna tournament.

This is only the 2nd racket defeat in hand of the world no.1 this season after the one suffered in the Roland-Garros final 3 weeks ago. The Serbian also lost on disqualification at the US Open. He hadn’t bowed to such a low-ranked player for over 2 years. The Italian is also a “lucky loser” (drafted).
