Some people with Verizon, Cricket and T-Mobile also reported problems with their phone service. They had to use their social platforms by connecting to Wi-Fi networks or home internet providers like Spectrum to publicize the failures. The word #outage was trending this Thursday morning on X.

According to the website Downdetectorabout 75,000 AT&T customers reported to the site of failures from 3 a.m. Thursday. Cricket had more than 13,000 users without service as of 7 a.m., Verizon about 4,000 and T-Mobile another 2,000. Boost Mobile and StraightTalk had reports of service outages for about 1,400 people combined. These are just reports from users who used other means to report connection problems to that website.

The only unaffected users appear to be those with MetroPCS. Several people with this service took the opportunity to boast that they were the only ones who were not incommunicado that day. MetroPCShowever, uses T-Mobile towers to provide coverage.

Cities of large metropolises are urging the population through social networks that if they need to call 911, try to locate a landline phone.

Affected people will find the acronym SOS on the cell phone screen at the top, to the right, next to the coverage signal.

AT&T acknowledged that there is a problem but They did not disclose a reason to explain the system failure. An estimated time for the restoration of service was also not given, in a publication in X.

“Some of our customers are experiencing interruptions in their service this morning. “We are working urgently to restore service,” AT&T said in a statement to The Dallas Morning News. “We recommend that you use Wi-Fi to call until service is restored.”

Fort Worth police posted on X this morning that they were aware of the outage at AT&T and other providers. The police department assured that this blackout does not affect calls to 911. “We are available to attend to your emergency needs,” they published.
