Hamas’ attack on Israel and the subsequent war in the Gaza Strip are sending waves as far as Europe. In many capitals, including Vienna, there have been demonstrations in solidarity with Israel as well as pro-Palestinian protests. In Germany there were riots during the demonstrations following support for Hamas was expressed there. In Austria, the government has increased the terror alert level.
