Kochi ∙ A young man attempted to kill a young woman in broad daylight following a love dispute. A woman belonging to another state was stabbed on Kalur Azad Road around 11 am. Sandhya, a native of Bengal, was hacked by Farooq, a man from another state, who was her boyfriend. Police investigation is in progress for the suspect who escaped from the spot on a bike.
Sandhya, who works in a private firm, and her friend were walking along Azad Road when Farooq, who came on a bike, got into an argument with the woman. Then he took the machete in his hand and swung it. The woman who was with him stopped him and did not get cut. Sandhya’s hand was cut in the attack once more. The woman gave the statement to the police that the dispute between the two resulted in the attack.
