Vienna (OTS) ATV-Moderator Meinrad KnappPolicy advisor Thomas Hofer and pollsters Peter Hajek review the political events of the week on Sunday. Among other things, the results of Peter Hajek’s current opinion poll will be discussed. He interviewed 500 Austrians: “Who has the better ideas and concepts, Rendi-Wagner or Doskozil?”

32 percent of those surveyed, representative of the Austrian population, believe that Burgenland’s governor Hans Peter Doskozil have the better ideas and concepts for the future of Austria. 24 percent of those surveyed see the incumbent party leader of the SPÖ, Pamela Rendi-Wagner, in front. 44 percent of respondents have no opinion or are undecided.

Pamela Rendi-Wagner has the greatest support from her own electorate. The majority of SPÖ voters, 57 percent, say that the SPÖ leader has better ideas and concepts for the future. Only 31 percent of SPÖ voters see Hans Peter Doskozil in front.

Doskozil scores particularly well with FPÖ and ÖVP voters. 46 percent of the FPÖ and 35 percent of the ÖVP voters trust the Burgenland governor with better ideas and concepts for the future of Austria. Rendi-Wagner, on the other hand, can only convince 8 percent of FPÖ and 24 percent of ÖVP voters.

Pollster Peter Hajek: “The results confirm the previous political patterns: Hans Peter Doskozil shines in the electoral market right of center, Pamela Rendi-Wagner is anchored left of center. Whoever heads the party according to the member survey still has to convey their own ideas to broad sections of the electorate.”
